Rock River Valley Artist Workshop

Join the Growing Artistic Community in the Beautiful Rock River Valley Presenting Instructor Bonnie Casey
June 21 to June 25, 2010

Mission Statement
Our mission at the Rock River Valley Artist Workshops is to provide an environment for artists to develop their skills and vision by bringing them together with top teaching artists in a beautiful and inspiring area of Oregon in Northern Illinois.

We would like to invite you to join us as we launch our mission with nationally acclaimed artist, Bonnie Casey. Click on the video image to see Bonnie demonstrating her unique artistic style.

Lodging with the artist at the Patchwork Inn in beautiful downtown Oregon encourages artists to relax, focus on their art and get to know one another in a comfortable, laid back setting. Even if you live within driving distance, you might choose to lodge locally so as not to miss the evening activities and studio time.

After a Continental breakfast, artists staying at the Inn walk the quarter block to the studio at Conover Square. Local arts groups provide a mid-morning snack and lunch will be in one of Conover’s eateries.

A special evening dinner with Bonnie Casey is planned for the Thursday of the workshop, at La Vigna Restaurant in Oregon.

About the Artist

Bonnie Casey is a traditionally trained artist that paints all subjects in a fluid and rhythmic style. Her subject matter includes cowboys, cattle, cacti, and landscapes.

She was born in Chicago studying at the Chicago Art Institute on a student scholarship before studying with Joe Abbrescia of the American Academy of Art. She taught at the Village Art School in Skokie, Illinois for 15 years before opening her own school in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. In 1984, Bonnie moved to Chino Valley, Arizona, where she is predominately a landscape painter. Ms. Casey is currently focusing on painting in plein air. Her oils, pastels and sculptures have been exhibited in galleries in Texas, Florida, Michigan and Arizona.

She has been nominated twice for the Arizona Governors Award, won two Grumbacher Gold Medals, and her work has been included in the book “Finding Your Visual Voice,” by Dakota Mitchell. Her bio can be seen in “Who’s Who in American Women,” “Who’s Who in America,” and “Who’s Who in the World.” Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections in the U. S. and overseas.
